Chef Vivek Chauhan, the Executive Pastry Chef at Le Meridien, has been awarded Pastry Chef of the Year by Indian International Hospitality Expo 2021 Excellence Awards in the presence of more than 100 chefs and professionals from the industry. The four day event IHE Excellence Awards honoured the best of the best hoteliers in their respective regions and across the nation.
With their votes, culinary experts and artists have proclaimed Chef Vivek as the most influential and sweet pastry chef this year and, therefore, winner of this award. The IHE Pastry Chef of the Year award recognises a pastry chef who displays a passion for the craft, has an accomplished reputation in the pastry field and has helped educate others by sharing skills and knowledge.
With this recognition, acclaimed Patissier and chocolatier Chef Vivek, considered one of the most industry friendly chefs, adds a new achievement to his meteoric career. “I am so proud to have
represented Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi,” said Chef Vivek Chauhan. “It’s a significant accomplishment, and I’ve had so many strong mentors throughout my career from Michelin star chefs Allyn Williams and Eric Chavalot, to my seniors from Taj Mahal Hotel and The Lancaster in London to name a few.” “Also, I want to give my heartiest thanks to Chef Davinder Kumar, Chef Veena Arora, Brian Fantoni, Nigel Boschetti, Eibhear Coyle, Paul Danabi, David Doricott, Mark Gregory, Chef Paul Beard, my team, Shefali Singh (PR Manager) and to my family,” added Chef Vivek Chauhan.

Guided by the passion to go beyond the stereotypical box of sweet creations, Chef Vivek has carved a niche for himself in the culinary world by artfully blending modern European and French classical pastry techniques to cater to the Indian palate. Amongst the most notable awards, he has been conferred with “Pastry Chef of the Year 2018” conferred by IHE and ICF.
