Joins the elite group of being the 9th centre worldwide
With an aim to enable Craft, Artisanal and industrial bakers to get the best out of a creative environment to develop and test new product concepts using a broad array of Bakels’ world-class ingredients, Bakels India has recently opened a Baking Centre in Mumbai. Spread across 5,000 sq feet, the centre will also serve as the new headquarters for Bakels India. In addition to the R&D facility which aids in testing and developing new products, the well-designed office includes a meeting room which can accommodate a large group for meetings and presentation, while providing an insight into the adjacent baking centre.
“Our partnership with customers goes further than just products. Our Baking Centres provide facilities for customers to both train their staff prior to product launches and offers guidance and support post-launch. From small craft/artisan bakeries running small batch trials to large retail customers requiring the training of their bakery staff, our Baking Centres provide the complete solution for customers to grow their business,” informed Gaurang Bhasin, President – Sales & Marketing, Bakels India.
The baking centre is fully equipped to demonstrate all aspects of bakery products – bread, cake and confectionery. Customers can engage in live baking sessions with facilities for co-creating recipes jointly with Bakels’ skilled team of hands-on chefs.
“Over 110 years of continuous research and development, innovation and investment in our people and facilities has given Bakels the reputation it has today,” stated a company statement. With the opening of this new centre, India joins the elite group by becoming the 9th baking centre in Bakels worldwide.
Talking about the future of the industry and the upcoming trends, Bhasin feels, “health being the biggest drivers, we see that low salt and low sugar is the way to go. Fortification on the health front is going to be the future. There is a lot of vegan stuff happening in India. Lots of eggless movement happening in India. Having said all that, top of the line indulgence is always going to stay.”
“This new centre is part of our commitment to being in India, and investing here as a multinational. Our vision is to work on long term projects. Our focus has been to be a solution providing organisation, rather than being a product company. At the new centre we plan to do engaging seminars and interactions with Celebrity Chefs and create a training platform for the industry,”
