AAHAR 2021: Fostering new hopes

ITPO supports industry by offering considerable discounts for participation

The new halls of iconic International Exhibitioncum- Convention Centre (IECC) at PragatiMaidan would be the venue for AAHAR this year. The five-day event, now in its 36th edition, organised by the India Trade Promotion

Organisation (ITPO) – an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will be held from April 6 to 10th. The exhibition this year will be organised in a gross area spreading 73,000 sq meters in the new and old halls of Pragati Maidan.

In an effort to support the Indian industry, the international food and hospitality fair this year is being hosted with discounted rates of 45 per cent on participation charges.

The display profile has been segregated into four categories namely:

  1. Food Products, Ingredients & Additives,
  2. F&B Equipment,
  3. Hospitality and Décor Solutions, and
  4. Foreign Participation.

The fair, as has been in the past, features a wide range of food products, machinery, F&B equipment, hospitality and Décor Solutions and Confectionary items. AAHAR is one of the most awaited B2B events which is supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Agricultural and Processed Food Products Development Authority (APEDA) and apex industry associations. Supporting trade bodies include: Association of Resource Companies for Hospitality Industry of India (ARCHII), Hotel and Restaurant Equipment Manufacturers Association of India (HOTREMAI), All India Food Processors Association (AIFPA), Food & Hospitality Support Association of India (FHSAI), Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), Federation of Indian Food & Hospitality Industry (FIFHI) and Indore Confectionary Manufacturers Association (ICMA), etc.

As a precautionary measure, ITPO has issued a circular highlighting that all the exhibitors, as well as business visitors, would be required to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 related guidelines/SOPs issued by the relevant government authorities.

Over the years AAHAR has been an order-writing show where the hotel industry, restaurants, catering industry / institutions, importers, buyers/distributors meet with vendors to source the best of products in food, hospitality & equipment sectors. Senior management professionals like CEOs, Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, Directors, General Managers have formed a substantial part of the visitors.

Due to the redevelopment of Pragati Maidan, the show was restricted to around 40,000 sq meters gross area in 2020. The show had participation from over 700 exhibitors including foreign exhibitors from USA, China, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Spain, Oman, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, Peru, Norway, Indonesia, Canada, Tunisia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. The last edition of the show was visited by over 40,000 visitors.
