The blades are hardened and tempered & given hardness of approx. 50 HRC to  give longer edge retention and the handle is made from virgin polypropylene. The serrated cheese knife blade helps to cut through hard cheese and the holes in the blade prevents the soft cheese from sticking to the blade and the spokes on the blade are helpful to lift the cheese.
